ELPH Beat Me

Filed under: Ever Loving Patient Husband, Random — Tags: , — Linda @ 4:20 am

At the Range that is.  And I have the bruised ego to prove it.

ELPH wins Nov 2009

ELPH – 356                                                                                          Linda – 339

No, I didn’t ‘let’ him win and yes it was fair & square.  If of course, you take into account that he has modified his weapon and I have not.  Ok he hasn’t put a scope on it or anything.  He replaced the factory sights with some pretty sweet fiber optic Williams Fire Sights.  These sights have improved his ability to actually put all 40 shots on the page which helps the score. And as you can see they clearly have enhanced his ability to hit the center of the target.

My only consolation is that ELPH hasn’t beaten my high score of 362, ……. yet.

  1. I think maybe he’s been sneaking out to the range practicing when you are at work. ;-))

  2. If you want to WIN, You need to practice…..

Hey Annie, Where’s my $20..?? And Lunch..? I think I got ripped off….
Practice? Ahem, I practice. But some people I know sneak out during the work week, sometimes TWICE a week, for additional cheating practice.
As for the $20 bucks, well I don’t remember asking ‘So are we betting today? Or is this just practice cuz you got new sights?’

  3. I think you better start moonlighting at the range! We can’t let this happen!

  4. What’s this modified weapon stuff? Doesn’t sound kosher to me. It’s like comparing apples and oranges. Get thee a laser, girl… He has balls expecting you to compete with him when he’s cheating. For shame, ELPH…

  5. I do know of a few targets that could use some expert marksmanship…I’m trying to laugh.

  6. Sounds like a bunch of “Cry’n” going on! If you can’t stand the heat back away from the Grill!!

There’s no “Apples and Oranges” here… Improved Sights are part of the sport. We both have the same Pistol and both have “Iron Sights”. Its like in NASCAR when one car uses different Tires or Fuel, its all Fair & Square… part of the sport.

I suggest a little less bitching and a little better shooting!!

Oh Sophia! These here are fighting words!

  7. Those numbers look awfully close to me, but I know nothing about shooting. (Or numbers.)

The number that’s most disturbing, though, is yesterday’s brownie that is 100 calories. That’s the size of a crumb I’d flick off my shirt eating a regular sized brownie that evidently comes in at about 1,000 calories.

  8. Ooooh. I touched a nerve. So, ELPH, are your two guns exactly the same? Linda has fiber optic Williams Fire Sights, too? (Obviously I know naught of what you speak, but if she doesn’t have the same advantage how can it be a fair contest?)

  11. His target might have more in the middle but yours actually appeals to my orderly side. It’s more evenly spread out. :)

You’ll get him next time!!!! I’ll throw a 20 in there that says you can do it.
