“It is an easy 10 minute hike to the base of this beautiful falls, named for an Indian maiden who hid on a ledge of the falls to avoid capture as she fled to warn her English lover of an Indian attack. A well-maintained trail leads from the parking area to a platform for viewing this 100-foot cascade of Cane Creek.”
Easy if you are a Mountain Goat…or a 12 yo boy, LOL! This photo was taken from the observation deck at the top of the falls just steps from the parking area.
The trail down to the bottom of the falls was heavily damaged by rainfall erosion in recent years. It is possible to Billy Goat down this steep hill, climbing over boulders and using roots for handholds. And well worth it I think! Once at the bottom of that ‘easy, 10 minute hike’ you will see and hear this.
