I’ve been working on the Brigitta Cardigan for so long it has been renamed The Damn Brown Sweater.
I really like the pattern, it’s really quite easy (knit, purl, increase, decrease). My trouble is apparently I don’t read/follow directions so well. This has taught me how to TINK (knit backwards) and how to UN-bind-off. Yes. I actually bound off well before I was actually finished with an actual entire section. This is the part where at least a “C” in following directions would be helpful. Also marking your pattern where you stopped and put down your WIP (Work In Progress) so when you go back to it you know WTH you left off and don’t guess Wrong! sigh.
So to take my mind off my lack of reading/following direction knitting frustrations and to keep me from ripping the whole damned thing out, I’ve started a crochet cardigan. 30 years experience in crochet should make this project a breeze:)
The Chevron Lace Cardigan is made from the top down which I like because you can try it on and see how it fits. I’m using Naturally Caron Spa brand yarn. Very soft & light weight. Perfect for air-conditioned offices. I’ll get back to the Damn Brown Sweater when I don’t hate it again. Hopefully I will complete it this year.
What might set me back is The Tour de France. It starts June 30th and spins through July 22nd. Spins! Get it?! so does the Tour de Fleece, the annual Tour de Fleece spin-along during the Tour de France. The concept is simple, they spin, we spin. A real spinning themed spin-along. Sooo any-who, I have to get Fanty ready…
…all dusted off and oiled up and ready to spin, select the fiber I want to work with and order some more bobbins I’ll keep you posted on my progress.
