My sister loves diving and I wanted to crochet her a sea creature for her birthday. I had seen this cute sewing pattern for a denim whale on Pinterest, and it had been on my future makes list for a while, but I not much of a sewer. I was browsing for amigurumi sea creature inspiration and came across this lovely free pattern for a Baby Humpback Whale from 1dogwoof. When I saw that this pattern was created as a crochet version of the denim whale, I knew that this was the sea creature I had to make!

The pattern is free and easy to follow. I used Stylecraft Special DK yarn, Storm Blue for the top, and Duck Egg for the bottom.

The whale is super adorable (“whaley cute” my sister said when I gave him to her) and just the right size for cuddles. My little boy wants me to make one for him next!
